Though she stepped away from coding over a decade ago, her love for pottery and the need to build a community brought her back to the world of development. In 2022, Awani single-handedly created Glaizit, a platform designed to bring potters together and provide a one-stop solution for organizing glaze combinations, techniques, and inspiration.
Awani's journey into pottery started as a hobby, but soon she found herself searching endlessly across the internet for the perfect glaze recipes and combinations. Frustrated by how scattered the resources were, she decided to take matters into her own hands. Leveraging her tech skills, she developed Glaizit as a personal tool to organize her work and gather inspiration in one place. It wasn't long before she realized that other potters shared the same need, and within two years, Glaizit began attracting interest from potters all over the world.
As a potter, Awani experienced firsthand how overwhelming it can be to manage multiple tools across the internet. She found herself juggling different platforms: one to attract attention, another for inspiration, a third for logging pottery notes, one for selling, another for buying glazes, and yet another for learning new skills. The process became fragmented and exhausting.
"I'm a potter—I want to play in clay, not deal with countless accounts and applications," says Awani. This frustration led to Glaizit's vision: to provide one platform where potters can do all of these things in one place. Glaizit is designed to remove the clutter, allowing artists to focus on their craft instead of managing multiple tools
As Glaizit grew, so did the need for a more robust, secure, and scalable platform. That's when Sumit—Awani's long-lost colleague from 15 years ago—reentered the picture. They reconnected and, just like old times, everything clicked. Their shared passion for building something meaningful, coupled with Sumit's vision and the strength of his exceptional team, made the partnership a natural fit.
What started as a personal project has now evolved into a growing global platform.
